´The only source of knowledge is experience´ (Albert Einstein)
So if we want to know about the world, its food, its places, its people but also its challenges and its past and future we need to experience them. Not through the lens of a You Tuber, Instagrammer or Tik Toker or other second-hand experience, but through our eyes, ears and all our sense. This requires effort and is not without risk, as we may see the fakes, the mundane face of places we expected to be only magical, but what we gain is knowledge. Knowledge about the real world we live in and the real challenges facing our planet but also knowledge about ourselves.
Food is one of the fundamentals in every culture along with language, religion and geography. So this Blog aims to give an insight into a place via its food as well as discussing the impact of modern day tourism and social media culture on the destination and its visitors.
